Originally discovered in 2000, the Kashagan is a giant oil field in the northern Kazakh part of the Capsian sea, 80 km south east of Atyrau is expected to produced 1.5 bpd in 2020 of which the field is estimated is currently holding 38 billion. It’s reserve could well exceed 50 billion barrels that will make it the second largest oil field in the world, after the Ghawar field in Saudi Arabia Petrofac awarded EBS in 2005 the supply and fabrication approx. 8,000 MTof pre-engineered hot rolled steel structure of which completed in time in 2005.
